How to spend your Paso Robles Wine Festival Weekend

May 18, 2017

This weekend, Paso Robles wineries will host seminars, winemaker dinners, tasting experiences and more for one of our favorite wine festivals of the year, The Paso Robles Wine Festival.

Celebrating its 35th year, The Paso Robles Wine Festival brings together wineries from all over Paso Robles for four days of events. As much as we would love to attend every single event, there are too many great options to choose from so we put together a list of our favorites!

  • Friday May 19 - Sunday May 21 - Vina Robles Vineyards & Winery - The Vina Robles Hospitality Center will be offering case specials, live music and wine & popcorn pairings to celebrate their newest releases. Pairings are $5 per person, complimentary for wine club members and waived with a wine purchase.

  • Friday May 19 and Saturday May 20 - Grey Wolf Cellars and Barton Family Wines - Grey Wolf Cellars and Barton Family Wines will be extending their normal hours and staying open until 7pm. There will be live music all weekend featuring artists such as the Sam Sharp Band and Erin Montgomery. Enjoy cupcake and wine pairings, craft cocktails by KROBAR Craft Distillery and food by Jeffry's Catering at Barton's Kitchen Window.

  • Saturday, May 20 - Wine Festival Grand Tasting - More than 70 Paso Robles wineries will participate in the Grand Tasting at the Paso Robles Downtown City Park. Wineries will be grouped by “regions” so if you want to taste Bordeaux-style wines, you can easily find them all in one area. This year’s Grand Tasting will include food samples and artisan vendors. This is a great way to experience many different wineries in one location!

  • Saturday, May 20 - Allegretto Vineyards and Wines Taste and Flavor - Enjoy a taste of the Allegretto single vineyard and estate wines during the Taste and Flavor seminar. In just twenty minutes, you will learn the difference between taste and flavor and how the two types of olfaction affect wine tasting. You will learn to sniff and taste wine like a professional. The "Taste and Flavor" seminars will be held every hour on the hour from two pm until closing in the Willow Creek tasting room at the Allegretto Vineyard Resort.

  • Saturday, May 20 - Parrish Family Vineyards - If you are looking for a quieter weekend away from the crowds, Parrish Family Vineyard is hosting their annual Parrish Picnic on Saturday May 20th from 11am – 4pm! This year guests can sip on new releases including the 2016 Estate Rosé, 2014 Reserve Silken and the 2014 Clone 6 Cabernet Sauvignon. Winemaker and owner David Parrish will be on hand to answer questions about the wines in a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. The picnic is at the Parrish Creston Ranch where people can spend the afternoon fishing, playing lawn games, listening to live music and eating wood fired pizza. Tickets are available at parrishfamilyvineyard.com.
