Granada Hotel & Bistro's ‘Break the Glass Ceiling Cocktail’ Honors Women’s March
January 24, 2017
To honor the all-important Women’s March that took place on Jan. 21, the Granada Hotel & Bistro crafted a cocktail that symbolizes the ongoing fight for women’s rights.
Created by house mixologist Dominique Gonzales, the Break the Glass Ceiling Cocktail is crafted with sparkling rosé, local peppercorns and topped with a stiff, candy-glass shell. The drink comes with a tiny gold hammer which guests use to break the candy-glass “ceiling” to sip the cocktail.
On January 21, the Break the Glass Ceiling Cocktail was priced at 80 percent (20 percent off) the normal cost ($12) to call attention to the pay gap between men and women in America.
“Given our political climate, the annual Women’s March has never been more important in calling attention to the fact that women’s rights are human rights,” says Kimberly Walker, founder of Granada. Following the Women's March in San Luis Obispo, Granada Hotel & Bistro hosted an After-Party. “We are so proud the Granada was able to play a role in making it a memorable experience for all.”
